Bonus Post: Online Resources

This week my professor found two great resources that I would like to share!

The first is a page that links to a list of authors that Kate Messner has collected that will Skype with classes for free! This is a great way to get students to get more involved and connected to the texts you read in class. Seeing the author and asking them questions can be so engaging and motivating for young readers! The list for middle grades readers and teen readers is so long. I can't wait to find authors that would fit into my curriculum of texts!

The other site is the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education's Cooperative Children's Book Center. I chose to look into the middle grades texts for science, but here is the main website page first:
